Email 5/9/11

*Yesterday Kaitlyn got to call & Skype home for Mother's Day. Since it was also her 22nd Birthday she got an extra 2 minutes! Ha ha! So today's letter isn't very long because we talked to her last night.

I'm officially 22 and I don't like it. I feel old. The Elders said something about how they made me a present..pretty sure it's going to have something to do with being old...

Well I talked to you yesterday and felt like I summed it up pretty good butttt.... As for some of your questions...

We have about 200 missionaries in our mission. I will try to send the giant picture we took at Christmas...I forgot about that... so the picture you saw was just the Spanish missionaries for a Spanish training we had before the Spanish night at the Easter pageant.

I don't know what to write about I told you everything yesterday...
OH I forgot the rest of the story with "K"...
(The man they met on the street last week who was having a bad day. He was hospitalized over the weekend for alcohol related issues.)

So we went over with the Elders and they gave him a blessing and we stuck a million post it notes and pictures of Jesus all over his place so it would remind him to not drink. AND I got him to give me his alcohol:) So we have a picture with us and his bottle of vodka..prob not your typical missionary picture but he gave it up so we were happy. He kept holding my hand during our little lesson...which was a little weird...not in a creepy way but, more of a support type way because he was crying and talking about how he needed to change. It was so sad he didn't have a bed he has been sleeping on this rolled up piece of carpet on the floor. So after we left we went back to our apartments and grabbed everything we could give with extra blankets and pillows and food. He says he drinks when he is hungry...so hopefully that will help for now. The Elders are going to go grocery shopping with him to make sure he doesn't buy alcohol. Hopefully we can actually help him. His life is so sad. He doesn't have anyone.
Hermana H had a hard day the other day. I just cuddled her and let her cry. Sometimes we all just need a good cuddle. Granted it is better with a cute boy but she just needed a hug. I try to write her notes everyday on the mirror or quotes, which is starting to help. I put a few in her scriptures before the lesson so she will relax! She's getting better though.
We got ward mission leader finally! BUT the guy the called is like the crazy uncle of our ward. He's crazy. It's going to be pretty entertaining.
What else?? ummm we keep getting texts from people we met on the street.. We give them our number and directions to the church but I don't think they are interested in the church..Bummer. Some men are crazy and slightly creepy at times.
Well this isn't a very exciting letter...
butttt
I LOVE YOU
Have a good week:)
