Changes - PLEASE READ!

Kaitlyn's mission sent a letter detailing that including personal information about where a missionary is, who they are teaching and their address is becoming a threat to missionaries.

The letter included blogging:

"Please be cautious when posting missionary emails on sites on the internet so that family and others can read it.  These posts are not secure and can be accessed by anyone or hacked quite easily by someone with intent.  Never ever include names of anyone (the missionary, converts, their companions, members, even our mission name) Never ever post a missionary's address, email address or our mission address.  Have friends and family contact you directly if they would like to write a letter to your missionary.  Never accept friends you do not know on facebook for your missionary (Facebook is NOT allowed in our mission.  Missionaries should never be on facebook.  Please do not encourage them to do so.) Facebook is currently being tested in a few missions but is not available to our mission at the present time.  Also, remember to use extreme when posting pictures.  Remember to use common sense when using any social media site."

Basically in other mission areas (we're not sure if this has happened in Kaitlyn's mission) some anti religious groups are using missionary blogs to find recent converts to the church and try to contact them and persuade them otherwise.  Threats are also being made to missionaries as well and their contact information is being found through blogs and also what they look like.  

We already abbreviate names on this blog but we'll no longer include WHERE she is and how to contact her.  Even though Kaitlyn LOVES to get letters, we can't in good conscious keep her address up.  

However we ask that you still keep writing her.  She has mentioned many times how letters really brighten her day, so with that said, if you would like her CURRENT ADDRESS, please contact JESSA through Facebook.  If you don't know how to do that you can email me at jessajill@gmail.com

Because there is a little bit of a security risk, would you please include how you know her?  Obviously there will be some names we'll recognize but just for safety's sake, just make sure you include that please.

Any names we can't verify, we'll run past Kaitlyn as well to make sure. 

I'll also be taking down her mission address on facebook as well.  Please don't hesitate to ask for her current address please - she would HATE not hearing from all of you - we just need to do what's best for her safety.
