Things I love about the MTC:

It doesn't matter what sport you played in high school, if you were into theater, or a mathematician, everyone is in the same boat. Completely humbled. I love seeing the more outgoing Elders cheer on the shy Elder. The kid whose gym shorts go up to his belly button, who when he goes to hit the volleyball, completely misses and hits himself in the face or the ball goes through his hands and hits him in the gut or "nads." And instead of everyone laughing - like they might have in high school at his lack of coordination, everyone cheers him on and high five him, yelling "Good try, Elder!" I love him, and I love all the Elders. Its refreshing to see what Christ-like attributes can exist in some of these 19 year old Elders. It kind of builds my testimony in Joseph Smith every time I see little acts of kindness. That's what this church is all about and I think sometimes we forget that. Being a good person and loving everyone is what matters. When Jesus Christ was asked which commandments were the most important, He said "Love thy God" and "Love one another." If you think about it, all the other commandments wouldn't be necessary if everyone just followed those two.

My next favorite thing is all the languages! And cultures! There is a girl next door who is from Bulgaria, but she went to school in Germany, where she found the Church. And now she is going on a mission to Switzerland. There are people of every shape, size, color and we're all here for the same reason and we all believe in the same things. It's cool to walk out of a devotional and 2,000 missionaries are singing "He Lives." ("I Know that My Redeemer Lives.") There really is no other place on Earth like this. Except there is - 15 other MTC'S!

We all came here for completely different reasons, we have different testimonies, experiences, and backgrounds, but we all stay here for the same reason. Because we know it's true. We wouldn't sacrifice 1 1/2 or 2 years of our lives if we weren't 100% positive this gospel - the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. And this is the only true church that contains the fullness of His gospel and it will better everyone's lives to live it.
