We had another great week:) There were three baptisms on Friday and it was a really cool experience. It was a really cute baptism, all the 8 year olds sang a cute baptism song that made everyone cry. We had a few of our other investigators there and they felt the spirit really strong and were crying. One investigator's family who attended has a 15 year old who has been the least interested of all of them. She couldn't stop crying during the whole thing and told us afterward she had never felt like that. Her older sister (who was baptized in December) texted us that on the 15yr olds facebook status that night she wrote "I just experienced one of the best feelings of my life". We had a lesson with them the other night and now she and her friend are getting baptized!
We went on Spanish exchanges Monday and Tuesday with the Spanish sisters, which was fun. I went to Queen Creek with Hma H and it was really fun to see a different way of teaching and to have the opportunity to teach more in Spanish. I gained more confidence in my Spanish with her, since she is from Guatemala. Because she is fluent she can explain things better and we talked Spanish to each other for 2 days. That was good because Hma O and I can never do that because we always get distracted and start talking in English.
So HILARIOUS...All the sisters are doing a biggest loser competition! It is perfect timing because we just started working out and running a lot. So we all have to text our weight today and then at the end of next transfer there will be a prize. If I somehow stay with Hma O, we will win because we are freakishly competitive. Plus one of our members bought us the Jillian Michaels Biggest Loser work out DVD and it was approved. So game on!
Going on transfers to Queen Creek made me realize how freakishly blessed we have been in Gilbert. We have so much work, a lot of people progressing, a lot of people to teach and we have had a lot of miracles. Being there made me really thankful for all that's happened over the last couple months. I can't believe it's almost March.
It's hard not mixing the English and Spanish work. Three of our English wards are have it good. Some of the others don't. We can help them, but they have to help themselves too. It's really hard to not get attached and want to do everything for them.
There was a humanitarian project the other day and we came out of it with bags of clothes for the little girls and brought it to a family's house so hopefully that will help a little. It's so sad to see a baby sleeping on a blanket on the floor. But the good thing about Hispanic families is that they all take care of each other no matter what and that's why they have so many of them living there.
I remember you asked about me being in Mesa. Mesa is a different mission, but we cover a little sliver of it. Since we are Spanish-speaking, our area is the whole zone so we cover all of Gilbert and the sliver of Mesa that is in our mission. The temple is out of our mission, but we can bring investigators and go when we want.
Okay, I love you so much. Have a great week.
Love, me.
