SOO no changes! I am
in Tempe
another transfer with Hermana Hansen which I'm happy about.
This
week was crazy and throughout the week when I started thinking about saying
bye to this
ward it made me sad, plus we picked up a few really cool
investigators this week!
Did you hear about our crazy storm? It was a monsoon/dirt
storm. 10,000 ft high 50-70 miles wide...worst one in 20 years. It was crazy!! There were trees knocked down
over cars all over town and al the leaves of the palm trees everywhere and
EVERYTHING was covered in dirt, and still is.
We were in a lesson when it
happened, but we saw it out the window. The poor Elders that were on bikes couldn't hold their bikes up and had
to run into someone’s house. It was cute
though because so
many of our members were texting us to make sure we were
okay. It’s about as exciting as it gets
here in terms of natural disasters.
"M" and "S" got baptized! I believe it was my favorite baptism of my
mission. They both were crying the whole time. The spirit was
so strong. They're young, but they both have already had such hard
lives.
It is just really cool to see how
prepared they were for the gospel. They fit right in with our ward and already
have tons of friends. What was cool, too, was that "M" and "S" were an OYM
from the
English Elders that have part of our area and the same day they sent
us "M" and "S'" info we met a guy and sent them his info.
They baptized him on Saturday too!
This was a good week for our ward with 5 baptisms. On
Thursday the Elders in our ward had a family they married and baptized. The
bishop married them and then they did the baptism and we had a
big party
afterwards. Everyone was dancing in the church to festive music. We
felt so awkward as missionaries, watching people in our ward clubbing...not your typical ward activity. Don't worry, we got a few pictures!
So..."S", (man who was more interested in flirting - see last week's email) we had to tell him as missionaries we are not
interested in dating and that we won’t be teaching him anymore. He's starting to kind
creep us out. So the new elders coming next week will teach him from now on.
Okay that is the summary of this week. I love you...
