Well this week was great in comparison to the last few weeks! We had 20 lessons and 2 people with a baptism date and everything is looking good:)We had some good experiences as well, we just were blessed a lot this week:)

Primero...We started teaching this guy "J" He started taking the lessons a few years ago and then he moved and lost contact with the missionaries.   Since then he has always seen missionaries in his neighborhood but they never talked to him.  Then
the other week some of our English elders attempted Spanish with him. He said he just said yes because he had so much respect for them for biking in 115
degrees and talking about Jesus and TRYING to speak terrible Spanish! haha. Turns out he's GOLDEN. We taught him last week and we came back this week and he was so excited. He's read The Book of Mormon everyday for an hour and
a half (That never happens).  He said at first he was reading it outside on his front porch so it would be quiet but then he noticed that "enemies" would pass
by and give him a hard time for reading the Book of Mormon.  He couldn't deny the way it made him feel and he has noticed he feels more comfort and has more
patience with his family.  So he started reading it in his backyard!  He doesn't realize how long he's been reading it until something catches his attention and he realizes it's
been 2 hours and he's covered in sweat! HE'S SO COOL! I LOVE HIM! Seeing as The Book of Mormon is the key to everything he is progressing beautifully :) We will be giving him a baptismal date this week! YAY!

So it was "J"'s Birthday (the member that always comes out with us) and we had a little fiesta with the ward.   It was really, really fun.  They get wild and all sing
karaoke and dance!   BUT the best part was the 4 of our investigators came!  All of the people we are teaching are single men that are in their 30's or 40's who are working and sending money to Mexico. So one of them named "P" who also is golden
(except that he doesn't believe in the resurrection – we’re working on it though) surprised us and showed up.

Now, when the women greet each other we always kiss on the cheek but we just shake hands with the guys. So when I went up to shake Patricio's hand next thing
I knew I was being pulled in and his lips were coming at mine!! It was one of those horrible slow motion panic moments!  It was hilarious!!! The members yelled
"NO NO NO" I quickly pulled backed and all I could say was "NO PUEDO NO PUEDO!!" (I can't)  It was really embarrassing. I've been kissed like 4 times on my mission and hugged more times than I can count.  I mean I've kissed boys before my mission but that is completely different than having some 40 yr old guy with a
mustache coming at you. WHY?

The ward thinks is hilarious. Along with my zone who all constantly make jokes about how I attract creepers.   Last week as I was emailing, the guy next to me who
was some old guy looked at my screen as saw the name "Janette" and started calling me Janette.  Hey there Janette. How you doing? The elders were peeing their pants.

Anyway so we had 4 investigators at the fiesta on Sat. night.   Now Sunday morning guess how many made it to church?   ONE!

We are teaching this little 9 yr old that's getting baptized this weekend and he is the funniest kid to teach.  He is full of awesome quotes like “Are there cheeseburgers
in the spirit world?" "I wish I could be shiny after baptism" "So the Holy Ghost is like an imaginary friend? I will name him Bob Sanchez Squishy Head" "The
reason we take water with the bread at church is because when Jesus gave out bread he gave them water too so they could get down the bread cuz it didn't taste good"

At the same time this kid is ridiculously smart and asks way better questions than any of our investigators and repeats back to us the lessons. I love it. "How did he
get the priesthood?" "How are they chosen to be apostles" "I am going to go to the celestial kingdom but first I have to read every page of this book for the rest of my
life!" We were talking about how men and women have different but equal roles in the church and we said men have the priesthood and women...he interrupted and
said.."BAKE!"...I love teaching him.

All in all a good week:)
Hope all is well at home.
LOVE YOU
